The Colombian street style is very different from the “usual” fashion I’m used to, specially in Florencia where I’m located at the moment. It appears that the hottest trend in Colombia for the moment is to wear extremely tight jeans and match it with a tight top, I call it the tight- tight trend. This tight outfit is worn with flip flops and don’t get me wrong, its not the usual flip flops ppls usually wears at the beach. The footwear trend is high heel flip flops and comes in different colours. I’m still in shock how the Colombian ladies ride their Vespa and motorcycle in these shoes! I barely are able to ride my bike in 10 minutes wearing high heels without falling down. I’m not very fond if this tight-tight trend and the reason is simple, I’m a huge fan of wearing more loose clothing and all of my tops and T-shirts is in size 42 or 44 when my actual size is 34-36! I’m a more of a tight-loose kind of girl.
Now, to the men’s fashion. Most Colombian men I have seen, is stuck and still loving (and rocking) the 80’s fashion and all the trends the 80’s had to offer, inclusive the mullet haircut. The teenagers and others, more modern Colombian men, regardless weather, has the classical look, which means (according to me) combining a simple T-shirt with a pair of jeans.
The more trendy Colombians has dumped the tight-tight outfits and the 80’s mullet ( thank God) and looks like this:
